The Exiles Band Videos
In 2009, The Exiles played for the Woodrow Wilson Class of 1969 Reunion at Winfrey Point. We recorded a few of the songs from that show, Mike's son John mixed the tunes and Mike created the "demo" video below. It contains parts of some of the highlights from the show, and gives a flavor of the music we play. Here you go...
The Exiles played at the Sweethearts of Sigma Chi dinner/dance at the Weston Park Central Hotel in Dallas in February 2011, and a friend recorded a couple of songs. The first video shows the medley of "Stand by Me" and "Under the Boardwalk." The second video shows the Beatles hit "If I Needed Someone." Obviously not in HD, but she gets an "A" for effort!!!
"Stand By Me" / "Under the Boardwalk"...
"If I Needed Someone"...
In 2007, the Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1967 (our class) held the 40th class reunion's Friday night event at the Backyard, in Lakewood, and The Exiles were the entertainment. Although the video quality is lacking, the energy and enthusiasm is not. The late Chris Pappas loved to play, and loved to play the song "Louie Louie", the classic hit from The Kingsmen. He created the arrangement we still play to this day, and Jimi sings the "party" version of the song - you know, the words that if your parents heard you sing them, would result in you being grounded for life. Enjoy...
Again, at the Backyard in Lakewood, 2007, Mike is channeling Eric Clapton in "Badge" live and in living color...
And once again at the Backyard, Mike and Jimi channeling Hendrix in "Red House"...
We have come a long way since these videos were made, expanding our song list significantly to add a number of songs that feature our vocal harmonies and get people up on the dance floor! Songs from groups like The Beatles, Three Dog Night, Crosby Stills Nash & Young and Don Henley, plus iconic classics like Sea Cruise, My Girl and others. We will be adding more songs and videos as we get them!
